Elon Musk’s X May Spark Conversations About ‘Mature Content’ Among Users

X Corp, owned by Elon Musk, is building new use cases and features for all its users, and soon the social media platform may have a community of “adult content” for its users. The update was shared by Dong Wook Chung, a software engineer at X, and Musk himself posted his list of platform developments.

Chung talks about the features he’s been working on at X Communities, where “not safe for work” or NSFW content may soon be filtered into new groups that serve adult content.

The engineer notes that administrators can have a tag that clearly states what kind of content is being shared in that community, so that not everyone joins and then understands the nature of the content being posted or talked about in the group. The label also avoids automatic content filtering, Chung points out in his post.

According to reports, X is poised to become a platform where all types of content, including those of an explicit nature, are available, but access to these groups will likely be private and limited to people who verify their age before accessing content from this community. .

There, the administrator must monitor the content as well as the people entering the private space and ensure that they have legal permission to do so. Musk clearly has big ideas for X, which has already gone through a huge transformation since buying Twitter and doing a whole rebrand.

Bringing NSFW content is another way for the platform to appeal to a wider audience and eventually get them to pay if it’s a viable business model. However, X is guaranteed to come under scrutiny from law enforcement authorities, especially in the United States, where the government seeks to protect teenagers and young adults in general from online violence and other problems. For now, tests are ongoing, so we’re not even sure if X will actually deliver the feature to everyone.
